Hily Releases Limited-Edition Dating Fortune-Telling Book
Enjoy zero accuracy and 100% fun with a dash of absurdity and spontaneity
Las Vegas, March 17, 2025 — As spring arrives, 1 in 4 Americans are more eager to date than they were during winter, and dating app Hily publishes its first book, “Exciting, Random and Oddly Specific Instant Dating Predictions.” It features 486 AI-powered and human-perfected potential date scenarios. Simply think about an upcoming date, flip to a random page, place a finger on it, and receive an instant prediction. A zero to none percent of accuracy, but so much fun!

So why a fortune-telling book?
“Our research shows that compatibility matters — a lot. In fact, 92% of people say it’s at least somewhat important when considering a potential date. That’s why we created the science-backed Icks & Clicks compatibility quiz. But what we also found is that, alongside science, many people turn to more, let’s say, cosmic methods — like tarot, horoscopes, and even tea leaves — to evaluate potential matches,” says Julia Kolesnyk, Head of Brand and Communications at Hily. “So in reality, most of us rely on both data-driven insights and a little bit of luck to navigate the dating scene.”

Recent research by Hily surveying 1,450 American women reveals significant interest in mystical guidance for relationships:
- 48% have checked astrological compatibility before dating or entering a relationship.
- 1 in 3 have used tarot cards for insights into their love lives.
- 1 in 4 are likely to consult fortune tellers, mediums, or psychics for relationship guidance.
“While astrology, tarot cards, fortune tellers, and psychics are not scientific, people turn to them for many reasons. When people are looking for a partner and/or to enter a relationship, they can find comfort and reassurance from such things in what can otherwise be an anxiety-inducing process filled with uncertainty,” says Dr. Marisa T Cohen, PhD, LMFT, and relationships expert at Hily. “Many horoscopes, tarot readings, and fortune tellings also include broad suggestions and pointers, so a person can take something from it and apply it to their own life. This may also help them reflect on their own desires when it comes to finding a match. Also, such things can be used for entertainment purposes as a fun way to explore love and life. Even without scientific backing, they may be great starting points for self-reflection and for opening up conversations about relationships with others.”

The launch is limited to a few exclusive copies, 111 of which — a nod to the angel number often associated with new beginnings — Hily is giving away to its users. To win, participants must complete the Icks&Clicks quiz on the Hily app before April 5.
